Pelham Bay is a great place to look for owls. These Long-eared Owls were part of a group of eight, roosting quite openly in this stand of Shagbark-Hickory trees. Slender, crow-sized birds, these owls are often difficult to see due to their habit of perching, totally still, close to the trunk of a dense tree.
